Introducing: Abdo Machiavelli

I have been following the Intellectual discussions about the revolution in Egypt since the very beginning of it. Somehow, it feels like it lacks a little bit of..... Shrewdness. Many of the people who participate in the discussions don't lack the desire and goodwill to realize a better Egypt but completely lack the depth, strategy and tactics to see it through.

I count many instances where I was endlessly frustrated at how futile discussions go on endlessly on the media while plots are being hatched and strategies are being drawn to deflate and defeat the most important revolution in the history of Egypt!

FACTS: The enemy is still there. They are working hard. They are working smart. They feel no guilt nor pity. They have got EVERYTHING to lose.

The romantic notion of this revolution succeeding simply because it was "peaceful" and super-chic to the media is naive and irresponsible. This is just the beginning of a war for democracy, liberty and justice.

So allow me my dear readers to create a fictional persona to facilitate the expression of views and thoughts without the burden of sensitivity and political-correctness. Some views might be mine and some might just be there to allow people to think deeply. The end result would -hopefully- be a deeper understanding of reality for all of us.

Introducing: Abdo Machiavelli

For those of you who don't know Niccolò Machiavelli please google him!

With that out of the way, imagine with me if a group of well meaning mediums in Egypt decided to perform a seance and call upon the spirit of Machiavelli and bind him to use all his wisdom and knowledge to help the Egyptian people through this tumultuous period of the Egyptian history. After performing the secret rites and calling the spirit, they were met by a little problem. Machiavelli is Italian and has been dead for quite a while so he has no clue of what is happening in Egypt (they don't have cable in ghost-land). But one of the mediums had an epiphany: call upon a spirit of recently departed Egyptian and mix the two spirits together! So they get the spirit of Abdo, a young TV and media enthusiast who recently died but his spirit hasn't moved on. So what do you call the mix of political wisdom and depth with the Egyptian street-wise affection to politics?

Abdo Machiavelli

(Err.. well it sounded like a good idea!)

Contrived?  I think so too, deal with it! ;)
